Contact Options (2024 Update)

Contact Options (2024 Update)

28th March 2024

Our face to face drop-in advice sessions at our Elgin Office (at 6 Moss Street) run Mondays to Friday mornings (9:30am to 12:30pm) and on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons (12:30pm to 3:30pm).  As per our get advice page these operate on a first come basis and demand can be high.

The best time to see an adviser without having to wait is generally as we open at 9:30am.  Please be sure to leave sufficient time to explain your issue and for our adviser to investigate and explain your options.  Generally, this would be an hour or so but may be more if your issue is complex or you need us to contact another organisation on your behalf.

Our advice line (01343 550088) will also be open during advice sessions when volunteer capacity allows.

Please contact our admin line (01343 555163) on Monday to Wednsday mornings to arrange an appointment if:

  • you require assistance to complete a disability benefit form or appeal.
  • you have received paperwork relating to eviction.
  • You wish to arrange an Outreach appointment.

Please see the Outreach news article for current information on our Outreach sessions.

Should you require assistance making a new Universal Credit claim (up to your first payment) please contact the Help to Claim service on 0800 023 2581.  Please note that this assistance is only available by telephone or webchat and cannot be provided face to face.

The Money Talk Team website includes links to a variety of online self-help tools including our Money Map tool and our public advice pages.

Finally if you are in crisis or experiencing a genuine emergency situation and unable to contact us via one of the above methods you can contact our session supervisors on 01343 559004 or 01343 559002 to discuss what support the bureau can offer and how best to access this.  Please do not contact these numbers for non-emergency issues.
